A Little Birdie Told Me - All Creatures Great and Small...

Hello everyone and welcome to Saturday.  With only two Saturdays left before Christmas and feeling rather pleased with myself that I haven't got to do any more shopping for presents.  I'm going to have a day of watching Christmas movies  whilst wrapping up the presents.  Just Love this time of year..
Its the start of a new challenge over on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and the theme is
"All Creatures Great and Small Including Aliens"
I again have made a Side stepper card this time its for my Daughters Christmas card as she loves her animals.
Poor Edwin does get left out a lot of my card making but I couldn't resit inking this little fella up for this card.  He is from the Autumn stamp kit from Magnolia and couldn't wait to get a bit of colour in his cute little cheeks.. lol

Craft list
Papermania papers, Magnolia Stamps, Molly Bloom stamps, Whimsy Sentiment stamps, Lilly of the Valley circle sentiment stamps, Wild Orchid Flowers, Magnolia Doohickey dies - Tree and Hearts border, Copics, Martha Stewart hearts border punch, crimper distress inks, puffy pen, Glamour dust, Copics, Ribbon and rusty bell.

The main image is an older stamp from Magnolia but I just love this image as I so reminds me of my daughter when she was younger.  (Gone are the days when she would let me plat her hair and put ribbons in) The circle sentiment is one of the new ones from LOTV I think they are called "sentiments for her" and are rather handy as they are many different sentiments that can be used for different occasions and for different ladies in your lives.

Here's a close up of Edwin, Don't you just love his hat! The sweetie house in the background is from the 2011 collection from Molly Bloom.  I used a puffy pen on the trees to give the image a bit more depth and added glimmer dust whilst it was wet to add a bit of Christmas sparkle. The white tree is a Doohickey die cut which I have painted with picket fence crackle paint.

I used white acrylic paint on the grass to create the effect of snow on the grass and then went and covered it up.. lol The snail was given some metal antennae and coloured the colour of Rudolph's nose. The little Robins are also a stamp from Molly Bloom that I have attached to some acetate so they look like they are flying. The postage sentiment is from Whimsy and I used the matching die to cut it out.

Side Stepper Card - Lets Ink It Up

Hi all sorry about the lateness of my post I have schedule this post to go live at 3.00pm on Saturday as I know I was going to be busy putting up my Christmas decorations... Checked my blog this morning and found my post didn't post! Isn't that so annoying! but for once it wasn't bloggers fault but mine, I schedule it to go live Sunday at 3 instead of Saturday. What a Numpity!!

Anyway, lets get on with the show! Over on Lets Ink It Up we start another challenge and the theme this month is Christmas.  This challenge will only run for 2 weeks and we are being sponsored by two fabulous companies
the prize package is a

A prize package of 2 amazing stamp sets.

I have been putting up my Christmas decorations for most of the day and very nearly finished and its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I love to burn those scented candles with the Christmassy smells so its beginning to smell a lot like Christmas too!
Once I've finished I will take a few pic's for you.

For my card I made another side stepper card.  I have so fallen in love with these cards, I can't tell you how much fun they are to make.  Me thinks its all the colouring and embellies that you can include that make them so special.

All the stamps I used are from Magnolia apart from the little postage stamp sentiment as that is from Whimsy stamps I have also used the postage stamp die to get that perfect cut. The fence and cloud are both Magnolia Doohickey dies I have crackled the fence by using rock candy crackle paint then distressed it after it had dried so all the colour gets into those cracks.  Around the cloud I used a Viva Decor pearl pen to create little pearl drops.
Close up shot of the gorgeous Tilda holding her present.  I love colouring using the red shades!

A Real Sweetie - Anything Goes Challenge

Hello again, I have a busy little blog this morning.  It was my daughter birthday yesterday, can't believe that she has now reach the grand old age of 15. They grow up all to quickly!
Its time to show you my DT card for Anything Goes Challenge Blog.  We have a new theme for you and its a delicious one!!
"A Real Sweetie - Anything to do with food"
For my card I wanted to try something a bit different and found a fabulous tutorial for making
This is my first try and making one of these types of cards and boy did I enjoy creating it!! What takes the most time is the colouring and cutting out of all the images but so satisfying. All the images are from Magnolia    I adore the little house in the background and always colours up a treat.

The sentiment I used a strip of acetate to create the effect of the clouds in the sky and did the same with the butterfly.  I created the grass by using the icicle die from Marianne designs (love it when you find different uses for crafting goodies)

Just to give you the idea of the side of the card.  Design papers I used are from First Edition - Spring Feast. Dies are Magnolia Doohickeys and Marianne Design. The small flowers are handmade using a flower punch.  Cherry Charm is one I had in my stash.  Sent with love sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.
