Two Birds in a Pod

Hi all, back again with my DT post for Anything Goes Challenge blog.  This fortnight our theme is..
"Make it Manly" so we would love to see your those projects for the men in your life..
I had a lady ask me for a card that was blue and white, it had to have two birds on it so this is what I came up with.
I used an older style embossing folder I believe this one is called "Script". I have then gone over the raised words with Stormy Skies Distressing ink.

Copic Colours I used
W7, 5, 3, 1
T7, 5, 3, 1
B95, 93, 91
Inside view I die cut the bird and centred it in the middle of the Tim Holtz clock and for added depth a little more of the embossed script..

Craft supplies
Core'dination card stock
Tim Holtz - Clock
Prickly Pear die cut and stamps
Script embossing folder
Copic and Memento ink
Distress ink
Lilly of the valley - Sentiment
Don't forget to visit the Craft Den for all your goodies and to book your next workshop..

Lets go Shabby Chic with Tilda

Morning all, well its my first day back to work today, the first is always the hardest..lol
Today is also a new challenge over on
and the theme is a really good one
Vintage / Shabby Chic
We also have our new design team's first outing so pop on over to the challenge blog to see all their gorgeous creations..

Here's my DT card for the challenge, sorry but I have a photo over load on this card I love it so much.. :3

I have used again my dies from Go Kreate these are the XXL scallop circle dies.  I used the biggest die on this card and worked my way down to the smaller ones.

Here you can see the muslin and netting I used to make the bow then added a big pearl brad in the centre to finish it off.  Just behind you can just make out the grapevine heart that I recently found in one of those pound stores.  The pearls on the twisted string I found in my Christmas tree box and knew it would be perfect for this card.  Talking of Christmas I love going into all the stores and finding different bits that I can use for my cards.
The flowers I have given a light spreading of PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic paints to given them a slightly worn look.  I have also done this on the bird cage which is behind the sentiment.
This metal embellishment I used gold paint then painted over with a cream colour I was going for a more crackled look but got to impatient waiting for it to work its magic but I'm still happy with the result. I have on order from the Craft Den some of that Viva Decor inka gold which has been on a well know craft challenge and is suppose to be brilliant.  You can buy it from the Craft Den along with many different colour ways, paints and effects.
Here's a better view of those grapevine hearts I was talking about earlier and the organza rose that came on a 1 meter length so you will be seeing a lot of these on my cards and projects.
The Design papers are from a new paper pad from My Minds eye from the lost and found collection available from the Craft Den.
Sorry about the over load of pictures there is just so much to show. Behind Tilda I used one of the Doily dies from Cheery Lynn, I think this one is the French Flair doily.
For the background I used some white lace and Scrim
Tilda has been coloured with Copic's
Colours are:
E35, 34, 33, 31, 30 - Dress, hat and boots

Mellow Yellow Alphabet Challenge "Y"

Good Morning and a Happy Good Friday to you all!
My Brother in law and family are coming to visit today, haven't seen them in a while and we are all excited to have a chin wag and catch up.  We've hoping the weather stays nice, warm and dry! Should be a lovely day.

Well as its Friday its time of a new challenge over on
and the letter this week is...
"Y" for Yellow.
any card, layout or project just as long as the colour scheme is predominantly yellow..
We also have a new team member
"Sonia" welcome looking forward to getting to know and working with you.

My card this week I decided to do a bit of masking, I don't do this very often because it takes so long to do but  I love the results!

I love my Magnolia stamps but don't seem to get chance to use them as often as I would like.  They always ink and colour up beautifully.  My daughter helped me with this card and did the colouring of Tilda didn't she do a brilliant job.  I just loved the colours she picked!   I added glitter to Tilda's dress and hat and the hearts on the shutters and a tiny bit of clear glaze to the windows.

The little birdie is a new die and stamp set from a company called "Prickly Pear" that I got the other day  while mooching around Sir Stampalot. I 3D the wing and added crackle paint to make it shiny.    I will definitely be adding the rest of the dies and stamp sets to my collection in the near future!

These wonderful feathers are attached to wire and are so easy to place, although they are a bit pricey they do look fabulous.  The beads also come on wire but I'm going to have a go at making some myself.   The film strip is from Tim Holtz and comes in the cutest little tin. The sentiment is LOTV, for the yellow circle I used Nellies Multi frames Die's and the gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid.

I would like to welcome all my new followers of my little piece of blogland, so glad they enjoy my blog and I will coming to visit you all soon.
Have a very Good Friday and remember....
