My Favourite Things

Evening all, seems strange posting in the evening but I'm trying to catch up on all things blog as I have been without internet for quite a few days (The biggest Cry EVER..) hopefully things are back to normal.  This is my post for Lets Ink It Up which should have gone live on Saturday afternoon..
Our sponsor this Month is
and what a prize!!
Head on over to the challenge blog to find out more.. Lets Ink It Up

Onto my card for the challenge and the theme for this month is...
" Use your Favourite Embellishments"
and my favourites have to be flowers, flourishes, ribbon and butterflies so that's what I used..

These are Magnolia Doohickey die flowers (sorry can't remember the proper name) which I have cut out using kraft card stock and designer paper that matches the paper used.

I have had this stamp for a while now and have only just got around to stamping it up.. It is of course from Lillie of the Valley and is from one of their newer collections. I use really pleased with the colouring of this image (although it did take me five tries until I was happy..lol)
Strangely I have used all Magnolia Doohickey dies on this card, the butterfly,Flourishes and the cloud that has been stamped with a Lilly of the Valley Sentiment.

That's it for me today off to have a nose at what you have all been up to while I've been away..

Anything Goes - Lets Ink it Up Challenge

Afternoon folks, hope you are having a nice and relaxing Saturday.  Mine so far hasn't been bad spent the morning catching up on my DT work.  Had a big tidy up in my make shift craft room so I am at lest back to some sort of normality.
Its our first challenge of the New year over on Lets Ink It Up and our theme for this month is
"Anything Goes"
I used another new stamp from Lilly of the Valley that I got before Christmas.  I love this cute little girl and reminds me of Summer.  I have teamed her up with some Basic Grey Papers, Wild Orchid flowers, some gorgeous crochet flowers for my Mum (Thanks Mum), Scrim and crushed satin lace from the Ribbon Real.

The sentiment also comes with the stamp I really like the font that has been used for the wording it just goes so nice with the stamp.

Copic Colours

Side Stepper Card - Lets Ink It Up

Hi all sorry about the lateness of my post I have schedule this post to go live at 3.00pm on Saturday as I know I was going to be busy putting up my Christmas decorations... Checked my blog this morning and found my post didn't post! Isn't that so annoying! but for once it wasn't bloggers fault but mine, I schedule it to go live Sunday at 3 instead of Saturday. What a Numpity!!

Anyway, lets get on with the show! Over on Lets Ink It Up we start another challenge and the theme this month is Christmas.  This challenge will only run for 2 weeks and we are being sponsored by two fabulous companies
the prize package is a
STORE VOUCHER TO THE VALUE OF $20
Don't forget to head on over to their store, great products, great prices and as I said they are great supporters of LIIU, so let us support Simon Says Stamp as well.

A prize package of 2 amazing stamp sets.

I have been putting up my Christmas decorations for most of the day and very nearly finished and its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I love to burn those scented candles with the Christmassy smells so its beginning to smell a lot like Christmas too!
Once I've finished I will take a few pic's for you.

For my card I made another side stepper card.  I have so fallen in love with these cards, I can't tell you how much fun they are to make.  Me thinks its all the colouring and embellies that you can include that make them so special.

All the stamps I used are from Magnolia apart from the little postage stamp sentiment as that is from Whimsy stamps I have also used the postage stamp die to get that perfect cut. The fence and cloud are both Magnolia Doohickey dies I have crackled the fence by using rock candy crackle paint then distressed it after it had dried so all the colour gets into those cracks.  Around the cloud I used a Viva Decor pearl pen to create little pearl drops.
Close up shot of the gorgeous Tilda holding her present.  I love colouring using the red shades!
R39, 37, 35 - Coat
BG99, 96, 93- Tights & Present
E44, 43, 41- Boots
E29, 25, 31- Hair
Y28, 26, 21- Lace on bottom of skirt
I have used tons of walnut satin distress inks around all the edges on the card
I had taken so many images I decided to put a few altogether.
In this photo you can see the back of the card which I have decorated and left a space for a personal sentiment. Also a few close up shots of the two Tilda's

Onto my card for the challenge and my favourite technique is creating different shape cards.  This one is a Tent Card.  I found a fabulous tutorial on how to create them on Louise's blog  so thanks Louise for the fab tut..
I used one of my new Magnolia stamps and teamed it up with an older circle sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.  The gorgeous Reindeer use to be a tree decoration that I have altered with Red Acrylic paint and Tim Holtz crackle paints to create that aged look.  I have also used the hearts boarder die from Magnolia and attached it on the inside.

Here you can see that gorgeous sentiment from Whimsy I have mounted it onto a Magnolia Doohickey label, distressed then added a few sticks of Cinnamon and an old rusty bell attached with natural string.

Close up of Tilda the copic colours I used are
E44, 43, 41, 40
R89, 59, 39, 37
E29, 25, 31 - Hair
E00, 000, R20 - Skin

These wonderful flowers have been glittered and German Glass Glittered and in-between I have added a grapevine star, leaves and a few more sticks of cinnamon.  Really make the card smell all Christmasey .
