Going Criss Cross - Sweet Stamps Challenge

Hello all, and its Tuesday already and time for a new challenge over on Sweet Stamps and this weeks theme is "Criss Cross Cards".  Haven't made one of these cards before, seen them about in blog land and some of them are amazing! Now, I wonder why I never created one before they are such fun to make!!  There are so many different tutorials out there so I popped onto You Tube, typed in "Criss Cross Cards" and loads came up.

For the prize this week is a $20 spending spree in the Sweet Stamps online store and there is so much to chose from stamps, cheery lynn dies, inks, copics, the list goes on and on!!
So here's my take on a Criss cross card..
I have been dying to use these gorgeous papers from Prima called Printery each and every one are the strokable  type! you know the papers that I'm talking about..lol I teamed them up with the fabulous oval horse stamp, just love this stamp! and one of the many greetings stamps available from Sweet Stamps. This one is called " Birthday Greetings 900

I hand rolled the flowers using a die from Marianne Design "Flower buds and leaves" and the little swirl is also one from MD "Flower Dies".  For the centre of the flowers I added some Twinkle dust then coloured it with TH distressing ink Antique Linen".

A Close up of the horse stamp, coloured with copics
C8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 1, 0
I wanted to make the horse lighter in colour than the paper so it would stand out that much more.  Around the edges I have used distress ink Antique Linen and black soot to add a contrast in colour.

Crafty Supplies
